Baptism
Parents should contact the Director of Religious Education to schedule a Baptism preparation class. A parent must be an active parishioner of Nativity or another Catholic parish. An active parishioner at Nativity is registered with the parish for at least 3 months, attends Mass regularly on Sundays and Holy Days, and makes regular and identifiable contributions using parish envelopes or electronic giving for at least 3 months prior to the Baptism. Godparents for Baptism must be active parishioners of Nativity or another Catholic parish. Godparents must fill out, sign, and submit to the Director of Religious Education a Certificate for Sponsor Eligibility (link below). Godparents who are members of parishes other than Nativity must have their Pastor sign the form.

Eucharist
Please contact the parish office to request Communion brought to the homebound. To receive Communion in the hospital, notify the hospital’s Pastoral Care Office that you are a Catholic and you wish to receive Communion.

Confirmation
A two-year preparation period is required, either through a Catholic school or a parish religious education program. A Confirmation sponsor must be an active parishioner of Nativity or another Catholic parish. An active parishioner at Nativity is registered with the parish for at least 3 months, attends Mass regularly on Sundays and Holy Days, and makes regular and identifiable contributions using parish envelopes or myEgiving for at least 3 months prior to the Confirmation. Weddings
The couple must contact the priest at least six months in advance of the planned wedding date so that there is adequate time to complete the necessary documentation, interviews with the priest and participation in an Engagement Encounter weekend or Pre-Cana program. The Parish Director of Music Ministries assists the couple with the wedding and preparation for the wedding ceremony. The Parish has its own Wedding Director for all weddings at Nativity.

Please contact the parish office to request the Anointing of the Sick. It is recommended that you contact the parish office several days prior to going into the hospital for a scheduled surgery. Also prior to hospitalization, it is recommended that you consider filling out a healthcare power of attorney approved by the Diocese of Charleston (link to Diocese healthcare power of attorney form).
